Applied Science - Projects that develop and demonstrate improved technologies to address public safety and environmental issues related to the mining of coal and reclamation of the lands affected after mining.
Bonds - As a prerequisite for obtaining a coal mining permit, a person must post a reclamation bond to ensure that the regulatory authority will have sufficient funds to reclaim the site if the permittee fails to complete the reclamation plan approved in the permit.
Budget - Budget information for the past several years including budget justifications, proposed budget summmaries, and the Department of Interior's "Budget in Brief".
