Technology Services Branch (TSB)
The Technology Services Branch (TSB) provides a dichotomy of services which includes the operation of the National Mine Map Repository (NMMR) and the provision of Grants Administration throughout the Appalachian Region.
Within the Appalachian Region, Grant Administration is provided for a wide variety of grants including; Regulatory, Abandoned Mine Land (AML), Watershed Cooperative Agreement Program, and other grant award types.
A team of Geographers, Geologists and Mine Map Program Specialists operates and oversees the NMMR archive of all coal & non-coal, surface & deep, mines throughout the United States. Mine maps as large as 80 inches by 120 inches can be scanned with our state of the art equipment to accomplish our mission of protecting and preserving mine maps.
